Election Day

Campaign printing, phase by phase

Start with the Campaign Launch Bundles

The moment you announce, you need visibility fast. Your launch bundle puts your name on lawns, in hands, and on doors before the competition even gets organized. Order once, ship everything together, hit the ground running.

PRIORITY REORDER

Yard Signs — Expansion

Target new neighborhoods, main corridors, and supporter lawns you didn't cover at launch. Visibility compounds — every new sign builds on the last.

ADD TO LAUNCH SUPPLY

+100 - +300

Order by May 15 — ship before Memorial Day weekend

REORDER

Palm Cards

Your canvass program is scaling. Volunteers go through palm cards faster than campaigns expect. Reorder before you run short — never let your team hit doors without materials.

SUPPLEMENT BY

2,000 - 3,000

Match to upcoming canvassing schedule

REORDER IF NEEDED

Rally Signs

Summer events, parades, and endorsement announcements need rally signs. Order now for Memorial Day, July 4th, and summer campaign events.

EVENT SUPPLY

100 - 250

Order 2 weeks before first major event

REORDER IF NEEDED

Bumper stickers — events

Give supporters something to take home from events. Bumper stickers extend your visibility into every commute across your district long after the event ends.

EVENT SUPPLY

250 - 500

Bundle with your rally sign order for fastest shipping and fulfillment

NEW

Door hangers

As your canvass program scales up, door hangers extend your reach — left behind when no one answers the door, keeping your name in front of voters between contacts. Now is the time to introduce them into your field program.

Introduce ahead of your first major canvass wave

HIGHEST PRIORITY

Palm cards — canvass

This is your biggest order of the cycle. Your canvass program is touching your full voter universe. Order enough to cover the remainder of your field program plus a 20% buffer for GOTV.

FULL UNIVERSE COVERAGE

5,000 – 30,000

Order by July 1 — gives time for quality review

REORDER

Door hangers

Targeted to priority precincts and persuadable voter households. Your door hanger program should cover 50–60% of your canvassing universe.

PRECINCT COVERAGE

3,000 - 18,000

Phase 1 for July canvass, restock August

REORDER

Rally signs - final push

Fill remaining coverage gaps before the summer ends. After Labor Day, new sign placements decline — now is the last opportunity for meaningful new coverage.

COVERAGE GAP FILL

NEW

Promotional merchandise

Union events, summer festivals, and endorsement rallies need branded gear. T-shirts, buttons, and totes for your core supporter base and volunteer teams.

GOTV UNIVERSE × 2

2,000 – 15,000

Palm card restock

If your field program burned through your summer supply faster than expected, restock now. This is your last window for a standard turnaround order.

Signs get stolen, vandalized, or damaged in fall weather. A small replacement run keeps your visibility intact through October and to Election Day.

Campaign print timeline FAQs

Order your first run of yard signs 8–10 weeks before your announcement or launch date. For a November election, your launch signs should be ordered no later than February or March. Reorder in May to expand coverage and again in late summer to fill gaps before fall.

The hard deadline for standard-turnaround political printing for a November election is October 10th. After that date, standard 5-day production plus shipping will not arrive before Election Day. Rush production is available but requires direct contact — not a storefront order.

Include palm cards in your launch bundle and plan to reorder at least twice — once in May–June as your canvass ramps up, and again in July as your field program goes full speed. Never let your canvass team run out of materials — the cost of a reorder is far less than losing a canvass day.

GOTV door hangers should be ordered by October 10th at the latest for a November election. They're distributed in the final 2–3 days before Election Day — you need them in hand by October 28th at the absolute latest to allow for distribution staging.

MyUnionPrinter's standard production and shipping time is 5 business days from artwork approval. Rush production is available for urgent orders. Always add 1–2 days buffer for artwork review if your files are not already print-ready. For large orders, contact us to confirm production timelines before placing your order.

The standard campaign print timeline has 4 order windows: Launch (Feb–Apr), Awareness expansion (May–Jun), Field operations bulk order (Jul–Aug), and Final push (Sep–Oct 10). Each window has different products and quantities — your launch bundle sets the foundation and each subsequent order supplements it.

Yes — and most campaigns do, 2–3 times per cycle. Your artwork stays on file after your first order, making reorders fast. The most common reorder is palm cards in July–August when field programs scale up faster than anticipated. Build a 20% buffer into every order to reduce the urgency of reorders.

For Election Day you need: yard signs at poll locations (check local regulations), rally signs at major intersections near polling places, palm cards for poll greeters, and lapel stickers for volunteers and supporters. All of these should be ordered in your September–October window and staged before Election Day morning.
